Estimator / Surveyor South Wales – Barry £45k - £50k I’m currently recruiting for an Estimator, to work for a multidisciplined contractor within the construction and fit-out industry. With over 25 years’ experience in the construction industry, our client work closely to deliver outstanding service in commercial decorating, tiling and drylining as well as interior fit-out and refurbishment projects. The Role: * 80% Estimating, 20% QS’ing * Drylining/internal/painting. * Based in Barry but occasionally needed on site (mileage covered) * The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, managing tenders, and ensuring projects remain within budget. The Candidate: * Minimum 3 years of experience in estimating, ideally within the interior fit-out and drylining sectors. Construction experience required. * Education: Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant industry certifications are a plus. * Strong understanding of construction processes, particularly in drylining, partitioning, ceilings, and interior finishes (preferable) * Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ConQuest, Causeway, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and experience working with AutoCAD drawings. * Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to perform detailed cost analysis and produce accurate estimates. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present estimates and tender proposals clearly and professionally. * Strong negotiation skills when dealing with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to achieve cost-effective solutions. * Ability to prioritize tasks and work to deadlines in a fast-paced, competitive environment If you are interested and would like further details, please don’t hesitate to get in touch
