We here at Work Lyf are recruiting for Field Service Engineers for our client, working within the rail industry.
JOB PURPOSE:
To deliver engineering services tocustomers with a key focus on. Prime functions are locomotive maintenance to ensure fleet reliability. Responsible for the high quality and effective execution of allocated contract maintenance and engineering projects within agreed timescales and budgets
The role will include:
- Carrying out scheduled maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification and fault-finding activities.
- Responding to the customers unscheduled events in a rapid & efficient manner while delivering high standards of engineering workmanship, to include detailed reports and documentation.
- Complete modifications and special checks within the scheduled maintenance.
Acting as a role model with a safety mindset exemplifying the companys QHSE Policies and Core values.
Building productive and effective working relationships with company staff, peers and customers.
Partaking in a 24/7 on-call roster to provide out of hours support to the customer.
Contribute with key stakeholders to help build a reliable fleet.
Ensuring all work is documented correctly through our maintenance management system.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
Qualifications
Essential:
Engineering Advanced Apprenticeship or equivalent experience
BTEC National Certificate /ONC in Engineering or European equivalent.
Driving license
Desirable:
Emergency First Aid
Designated Person
Personal Track Safety
Competencies/Experience
Proven record of working effectively with Diesel engineering technology, associated systems and controls.
Relevant experience gained in similar position/similar locomotive and familiar with Company products.
Ability to meet people with ease and confidence, understanding and accommodating the customers needs.
Ability to self-start and proactively deliver the service.
Strong communicator, able to foster relationships at all levels with both customers and peers
Able to be assertive and make decisions in a timely manner, but remain non-confrontational when handling or involved in conflict situations
A safety-first mindset.
A logical, analytical, and objective approach to problem solving and fault diagnosis.
Detail focused with a disciplined and detailed approach to task completion
Understand the safety culture within the UK rail industry and how maintenance impacts on delivering safety.
Reasonable IT skills with a knowledge of Microsoft office
A flexible approach and attitude to working hours that are out of normal hours of work.
Applicants must be based close to either Felixstowe or Doncaster and have valid right to work in the UK.
