Job Title: Science Teacher Location: Northampton Hours: Full-time | Monday to Friday | 8:15 am – 4:45 pm Job Purpose: We are seeking a committed Science Teacher to deliver inspiring, high-quality lessons that foster engagement and enable students to make outstanding progress. This role supports students aged 11-19, including those who are vulnerable or have additional educational needs, to achieve their full potential and build toward future education, training, or employment pathways. Key Responsibilities: * Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging science lessons, ensuring concepts are embedded in students' long-term memory. * Individualized Support: Set clear, personalized targets for students based on prior attainment, with attention to special educational needs. * Continuous Assessment: Regularly assess, provide feedback, and use insights to refine teaching practices. * Student Wellbeing: Foster a positive, supportive environment, encouraging students' emotional wellbeing and aspirations. * Behavioral Management: Positively manage behavior in line with school policies, setting and monitoring behavioral targets as needed. * Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development and performance management. Requirements: * Essential: * GCSEs in English and Math (Grade C or equivalent) * Recognized Teaching Qualification * Understanding of SEN Code of Practice * Desirable: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), preferably with experience teaching Post-16 students * A degree in Science or a related field * Knowledge of relevant education legislation, Ofsted inspection requirements, and DfE standards * Experience with nurture group strategies and continuous assessment methods Contract Details: One-year contract with the potential to become permanent.
