Head of Business Development / Growth – Digital Marketing AgencyPlease note that this role is based in the North of England but offers flexible hybrid working from 2 days per month to 2-3 days per week to suit Circa £90,000 base salary (dependant upon experience) + bonus/commission and benefitsPlease do connect with us on LinkedIn, this will enable us to respond to you.We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Head of Business Development / Growth to drive this digital marketing agency’s strategic growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across the existing sector base and new target sectors; culturally, a natural collaborator with a low ego would work well.The role of Head of Business Development / Growth requires an ambitious, motivated and highly experienced commercial leader with a proven track record in new business development and sales, account-based marketing, excellent networking skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships. Working closely with the senior leadership team, to align business development strategies with the company's overall goals and objectives in order to achieve the targeted revenue growth.Key Responsibilities:Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential areas for growthAnalyse market data to understand client needs and preferences, and tailor business development strategies accordinglyDevelop and implement business development strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives, identifying new markets, growth areas, and trends to shape future strategiesIdentify and pursue new business opportunities, establish relationships with potential clients, partners and key people of influenceLead negotiations and close high-value contracts to achieve revenue targets, maintaining a robust pipeline of prospects and ensure a steady flow of business opportunitiesBuild and lead a high-performing business development teamCoach, mentor and develop team members, providing guidance on strategy, client engagement, and closing deals, setting clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular constructive feedbackWork closely with the marketing, content, and client delivery teams to align business development activities with marketing campaigns and client needsCollaborate with the creative and technical teams to ensure proposals are compelling and aligned with client objectivesCoordinate with the PR and communications teams to enhance brand visibility and reputationOversee the development of compelling proposals and presentations that clearly articulate the value of the agency’s services and are aligned with the agency’s strengths, brand and client needsLead pitch meetings and presentations, representing the agency to prospective clientsDevelop and maintain a set of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of business development activitiesProvide regular reports to the executive team on business development performance, including pipeline status, revenue forecasts, and achieved milestonesUse data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve outcomesRepresent the agency at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, acting as a brand ambassador, promoting the agency’s expertise and service offeringsQualifications and Skills:Senior Business Development experience within a Digital Marketing AgencyBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plusMinimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably in a digital marketing or advertising agencyProven track record of securing high-value contracts and achieving revenue targetsProficiency in CRM software and other business development toolsKey Competencies:Strategic Planning and Execution: Ability to develop and execute long-term business strategies that align with the company’s overall business objectives and deliver revenue growthClient-Centric Approach: Focus on understanding and meeting client needs; ensuring the strategy and processes are aligned with delivering value to clientsLeadership and team management: Ability to inspire and lead a (matrix) team towards achieving business objectives, whilst always demonstrating the company valuesInfluencing: Persuading stakeholders, both internal and external to support sales initiativesNegotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate and close deals effectively while maintaining profitabilityMarket analysis: Proficient in analysing market trends and data to inform strategies, sales tactics and decision-makingFinancial Acumen: Accurate budget management, revenue forecasting and managing sales pipeline; ensuring efforts contribute to overall profitability of the businessAdaptability: Ability to proactively adapt to changing market conditions and client needsPlease submit your CV via LinkedIn.
