A school in Merton is seeking a compassionate and committed SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Key Details: * Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) * Location: Merton, South London * Contract: Full-time, Contract * Salary: Competitive, based on experience * Start Date: Immediate Responsibilities: * Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs. * Help manage challenging behaviors and promote a positive learning environment. * Support students in developing coping mechanisms and strategies for emotional regulation. * Work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement personalized education plans (IEPs) for students. * Promote students' social, emotional, and academic development through tailored interventions. * Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where students feel safe and valued. Candidate Requirements: * Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or related behavioral needs. * A passion for working in education and supporting students with special needs. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and empathy. * Experience in a similar role (SEMH TA or SEN TA) within a school setting is desirable. * A proactive approach and ability to work collaboratively with a team of staff and external professionals.
