Design Engineer (Steelwork - ISO 14122) Location: Staffordshire Position: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours/week) Salary: £35k – £45k (depending on experience) Are you a design engineer with a passion for heavy steelwork projects? Join an innovative team where you’ll play a crucial role in the design and development of industrial steel structures. This is your opportunity to work on complex projects, provide technical support, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions that meet specifications and deadlines. Key Responsibilities: 3D Modeling & Drafting: Create 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings using Autodesk Advance Steel, based on client information or in-house designs. Technical Support: Collaborate with the fabrication and installation teams, providing engineering guidance to ensure projects are completed to the highest standards. Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical mechanical engineering issues, using your experience and knowledge to provide efficient solutions.Qualifications & Experience: Education: HNC in Mechanical Engineering or higher (lower qualifications considered with relevant experience). Industry Experience: Knowledge and understanding of BS EN ISO 14122 is essential for the role. Plus steelwork design, or fabrication / installation, with experience in mechanical design for steel structures, platforms, and stairs being an advantage. Software Skills: Experience with Autodesk Advance Steel is preferred, but in-house training is provided if required. Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, with the ability to develop detailed drawings from process datasheets and project specifications.You’ll have the chance to work on challenging projects, grow your technical skills, and contribute to innovative engineering solutions.
