Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Location: Manchester or London Industry: Technology Our clients are a high-growth technology company on the cutting edge of innovation, with a strong focus on scaling internationally and exploring opportunities to access the public markets. With significant momentum in their market, they are positioning ourselves for our next stage of growth, potentially including an IPO. They are looking for a strategic and experienced CFO to lead their financial operations, optimising their international tax strategy, and preparing them for a successful capital markets entry. Responsibilities The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be a key member of our executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing and managing all financial aspects of our company. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in capital markets, including IPO readiness and execution, and expertise in designing and managing international tax structures for maximum efficiency. This role requires a forward-thinking finance leader who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and has a track record of success in technology businesses. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership: Drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support high-growth objectives. Partner with the CEO and executive team to shape the company's strategic direction, ensuring that all financial decisions align with short- and long-term business goals. Provide insights and data-driven recommendations on business performance and growth strategies. Capital Markets & IPO Preparation Lead the company's preparation for an IPO, ensuring readiness across all financial and compliance functions. Oversee the financial due diligence process and engage with investment banks, auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth capital market transition. Serve as the primary liaison to investors, analysts, and financial institutions to build strong relationships and effectively communicate the company’s financial health and growth story. International Tax Strategy Develop and implement an efficient and compliant global tax strategy to optimize tax liabilities. Work with external advisors and internal teams to create tax-efficient structures in existing and emerging international markets. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international tax laws and regulations, minimizing risk and maximizing operational efficiency. Financial Operations & Risk Management Oversee financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, and procurement functions, ensuring adherence to best practices and financial controls. Develop and monitor internal control systems, addressing risks proactively to protect the company’s assets and integrity. Maintain responsibility for financial reporting, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). Data-Driven Decision Making Drive a data-centric culture across the finance function, leveraging analytics to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency. Partner with product, marketing, and sales teams to ensure accurate financial projections and to assess ROI on investments in growth. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA, CPA, or CFA is preferred. 15 years of experience in progressively senior finance roles, with at least 5 years in a CFO or similar leadership role. Demonstrated expertise in capital markets, IPO preparation and execution, and investor relations. Strong understanding of international tax structures, compliance, and optimization. Experience in a technology, SaaS, or high-growth startup environment is highly desirable. Proven success in working with executive leadership, the board of directors, and external investors. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide a high-performance finance team.
