School Cook

Supply Star Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a Primary School in Coventry who require a Cook to run their meal preperations. A school cook's responsibilities include preparing and serving nutritious meals for students and staff, and catering for special events. They also manage the kitchen and ensure compliance with food safety regulations. Here are some of the responsibilities of a school cook: * Menu planning: Plan menus that are nutritious, balanced, and value-for-money, while following guidelines on healthy eating and nutrition * Ordering: Order food and monitor supplies within a budget * Food safety: Ensure that the kitchen team follows food safety regulations by monitoring storage temperatures, labeling and dating food, and storing food properly * Staff supervision: Supervise the work of catering staff, including allocating duties and work rotas * Supplier relationships: Develop relationships with food suppliers * Kitchen management: Manage the kitchen and ensure it is kept clean and orderly * Special events: Cater for special events and functions To be considered for this role you must have worked within a school kitchen or similar environment and have experience preparing over 200 meals per day
