The Role: We are seeking a motivated and passionate Junior Sister/Junior Charge Nurse to join our inpatient team. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: Provide visible and inclusive clinical leadership, managing staff and resources to deliver exceptional patient care. Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory body standards. Clinical Responsibilities: Ensure evidence-based, individualised care is planned, implemented, and evaluated. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate seamless patient discharges and maintain high clinical standards. Operational & Administrative: Manage duty rosters, lead investigations into clinical incidents, and support the hospital’s digital transformation strategy. Education & Development: Promote continuous quality improvement and professional development within the team. Ensure staff orientation and mandatory training are completed. Key Requirements: Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMC registration Significant experience in acute care settings, particularly inpatient wards Proven leadership skills and experience in managing risk and driving quality improvement initiatives Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate for the Junior Sister/Junior Charge Nurse role will: Be an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with valid NMC registration, demonstrating a passion for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. Have at least 2-3 years of clinical experience at a senior level in an acute healthcare environment, particularly in inpatient wards. Exhibit strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and support a nursing team while fostering a positive, learning-focused environment. Be adept at managing complex patient pathways and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless care. Demonstrate excellent communication, decision-making, and organisational skills, and be able to effectively manage clinical risk and lead quality improvement initiatives. Have experience in managing HR issues, including investigations, and be comfortable leading on operational tasks like rostering and staff management. Possess a commitment to professional development, both personally and within the team, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement.
