About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic educational team in Hexham. This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week), offering a competitive salary of £20,203.80 for 44.6 paid weeks annually, with 5.6 weeks of annual leave.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of children within the school, assisting teachers in delivering high-quality education, and ensuring that all students receive the individual attention they need to thrive in their academic and social lives.
Key Responsibilities:

Classroom Support: Assist the class teacher in managing the learning environment, including preparing materials, supporting group and individual learning activities, and ensuring a positive classroom atmosphere.

Individual Support: Work one-on-one with students who may need additional help, including those with special educational needs (SEN). This may involve implementing specific strategies to support their learning and development.
*
Behaviour Management: Assist in maintaining a calm and focused learning environment by promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies.
*
Lesson Preparation: Help teachers in preparing and organizing lesson materials and resources, ensuring they are ready for use during classes.
*
Progress Monitoring: Support the assessment and recording of pupils' progress, providing feedback to teachers on students’ development and any concerns that may arise.
*
Inclusion and Diversity: Promote an inclusive learning environment, ensuring that all students, regardless of background or ability, are able to engage with the curriculum and make progress.
*
Safeguarding and Wellbeing: Actively contribute to the safeguarding of all students, ensuring their health, safety, and emotional well-being are a priority.
*
Communication: Liaise with parents, teachers, and other professionals as required, to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
What We Are Looking For:

Educational Background: A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics is essential. Further education or qualifications related to child development, teaching assistance, or education (such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable.
*
Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is highly beneficial, especially experience working with SEN children or those with additional needs.

Skills:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to work with children of varying abilities and backgrounds.
* Organizational skills to help with lesson preparation and classroom management.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and parents.
* A proactive and positive approach to supporting students.
