Linux Database Administrator

Linux Database Administrator Hybrid Role (x2 days per week on site) London, Swindon or Bournemouth office As a MongoDB Database Administrator you will be working in project teams designing, building and maintaining MongoDB databases and infrastructure to provide strong business solutions. For this job you'll spend at least two days per week, or if part time you'll spend 40% of your working time, based at either our Swindon, Nationwide House, Bournemouth, Portman House or our London, Threadneedle Street offices. Working within the delivery teams you will work collaboratively with others to build the best solutions for Nationwide using your technical leadership skills and SME knowledge to offer advice/consultancy, build systems and work through problems to provide solid working solutions within the Mongo DB space. You will have a proven track record in providing technical delivery through the design, build and implementation of MongoDB and ideally you will have in depth knowledge & experience of the following: Operating system concepts of Linux ( preferably RHEL) Configuring and supporting MongoDB OpsManager for Backups and Deployments. Supporting document based JSON data structures, exporting and importing documents. Assisting development and testing teams with troubleshooting within MongoDB and tuning performance, application workload and index recommendations. (Database Engineers with good/demonstrable experience on Other RDBMS/NoSQL database technologies such as MSSQL Server, Oracle and DSE Cassandra and Linux will be considered) It’s also about being clear, precise, and using language that we and, importantly, our customers and members can understand.
