Commercial Manager

Fresh People are currently looking to recruit a Commercial Manager for a Fresh Produce business based near Maidstone in Kent . This role will be managing relationships with key clients to ensure customer demand is met whilst driving sales and category growth . required to provide market leading category management and development of various product categories in support of their key retailer customer accounts .

The Person

Previous experience working within a Commercial role or as a Key Account Manager within Fresh Produce or Fresh Food would be ideal for this role. Preferably with exposure to management of UK retailer accounts as you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships , identifying opportunities of growth whilst ensuring service expectations are met .

  • Strong background in commercial management, particularly in fresh produce or FMCG industries.
  • Proven experience in category management and customer relationship management.
  • Ability to forecast, analyze market trends, and develop strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with technical, procurement, and operational teams.
  • Highly organized, analytical, and results-driven.

The Role Requirements

  • Oversee the management and development of various product categories.
  • Provide category management to drive sales growth for our clients.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients to communicate and implement category plans.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and expectations to align business strategies.
  • Work closely with internal teams (supply chain, procurement, technical) to ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of products.
  • Forecast sales, volumes, and margins for strategic planning and reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends and competition to identify new opportunities. Resolve any commercial and supply chain issues by working closely with technical and operational teams.
  • Deliver regular reports summarizing sales volumes, margins, and forecasts.
  • Ensure adherence to financial systems and controls.
