Floor Layer

Due to continued growth, we're seeking a qualified Floor Layer based in the Bristol area. As our Floor Layer, you’ll support the continued growth of the business by providing reactive and planned maintenance services in the area and supporting large-scale projects. The role is a 40-hour working week, but flexibility will be needed for start and finish times, weekends and night shifts. Because some sectors we work in involve close contact with vulnerable or young people, successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. Your primary duties as our Floor Layer will include: * Carrying out routine flooring tasks, reactive works, and small projects - sometimes on your own and sometimes part of a team * Carrying out effective spot repairs or improvements on a variety of floorings * Replacement and fitting of new flooring materials * Attending callouts/breakdowns and carrying out remedial repairs and replacements * Providing materials lists and time estimates for return remedial works * You will also be expected to work as part of an on-call rota to cover out-of-hours emergencies and there may be occasions when you are asked to work outside your core discipline to support other teammates * Shift patterns may vary due to the environments we work in, so night work should be expected What we’re looking for in our ideal Floor Layer: * Experienced floor layer with knowledge of working with and fitting a variety of floor coverings including carpet and cap and cove * Ability to carry out minor repairs to wooden sub-floor structures * A high degree of attention to detail * A good appreciation of Health and Safety * Highly customer-focused with experience in dealing with customers and suppliers * Excellent communication skills * Full driving licence Our "awesome" stuff: * 30 days holiday * 1 x paid volunteering day per year * Holiday buy and sell * Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption pay * Company van and fuel card * Door-to-door travel paid * We’ll provide a tablet as standard, as well as a “bring your own device” policy so we'll contribute to the cost of your using your personal mobile phone * Extensive discounts platform * A range of medical and well-being benefits including Simply Health Cash Plan
