Job Overview:

CPU Design Engineers are responsible for innovation and development of modern microprocessors.

For Principal CPU Design Engineer we are seeking a dedicated, versatile individual with strong technical leadership and in-depth understanding across multiple aspects of CPU design.

Responsibilities:

Your role will be to define and build hardware RTL designs for low-power and area efficiency, to write and review documentation, to provide planning, tracking and reporting in order to ensure high-quality and timely delivery of CPU IP.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Hands-on proficiency with System Verilog, Verilog or VHDL HDL for RTL design
  • Expertise in synthesizable design that achieve area, frequency and power targets; ability to make judgements on functionality and performance trade-offs
  • Track record of writing specifications and documentation describing complex designs
  • Capacity to own all stages of a project, from start to completion: concept, specification, implementation and testing, support
  • Proven technical and/or team leadership skills
  • Practical experience of working on microprocessor designs
‘Nice to Have’ Skills and Experience:
  • Working knowledge of SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA)
  • Mentoring team members
  • Knowledge of scripting eg Python, Perl or unix shell scripting
  • Knowledge of assembly language (preferably ARM), C/C++ and/or hardware verification languages e.g. SystemVerilog
