Job Requirements / Description
We are seeking a skilled Pilot Plant Technician on behalf of our client, an industry leader in technology development within the chemical sector. Based at their Wilton site, you’ll play a vital part in operating and managing a pilot plant facility.
You will manage daily operations, conducting chemical analyses and testing processes that drive technology advancements. The role demands high standards in safety, process understanding, and problem-solving to ensure smooth and safe plant functionality.
You will work within four teams of two technicians for two 12-hour days followed by two 12-hour nights with four days off. There is a set break in the summer and one in the winter, during this temporary contract (approximately for one year).
Key responsibilities:
Execute and oversee safe operations of the pilot plant following established procedures and safety standards Conduct sampling, chemical analysis, and data interpretation to assess plant performance Troubleshoot, repair, and modify equipment to maintain operational efficiency Record and document operational status through logbooks and computer systems for handover Maintain safety protocols, including emergency response, and issue permits when necessary Qualifications and experience:
NVQ Level 3 in Process Operations or equivalent Operational experience in a similar environment Strong analytical skills with experience in chemical process and safety management Effective communication and interpersonal skills for teamwork in a shift-based setting Join a dynamic team in a challenging and rewarding environment where safety, innovation, and technology advancement are top priorities!
