Giving the candidate a full understanding of the role of a Quantity Surveyor but also the wider business, building upon their commercial awareness and skillset.
Role & Responsibilities
- Support project delivery, ensuring work is completed on or ahead of schedule and within budget
- Assist with pre-construction activities such as pricing, payment terms, and contract documentation
- Work with sub-contracted installers, managing payments and contract agreements
- Handle day-to-day contract administration, including payment applications, variations, and notices
- Collaborate with the finance team to manage cash collection and commercial risks
- Prepare Monthly Cost Reports (MCR) and contribute to value engineering and cost management
- Monitor and report on project costs and progress throughout the lifecycle of each project.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial understanding and financial skills, including budget control and cost reporting experience
- Experience in contract administration and record keeping
- Ideally experienced in the construction, contractor or manufacturing sectors
- Full UK Driving Licence and a car
- Degree qualified in a relevant field is preferred but not essential.
