Position: Multi Tradesman

Location: NW5 3AP

Contract Duration: ASAP - December 2024 (with the possibility of extension)

Working Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: 22.43 per hour (PAYE), Cis and Umbrella also available

Position Overview:

To carry out building repairs, maintenance, renewals, and replacements within a range of trade disciplines ranging from routine reactive repairs to large-scale programmed refurbishment work and occupational therapy adaptations in occupied and void housing properties and other council-owned premises by best trade practice and to current standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake all aspects of building repairs, maintenance, renewals, and replacements within a skill set ranging from routine reactive repairs to major renewals of installations in occupied and void properties.
  • To identify and diagnose the causes of building faults and defects to identify the most appropriate solution to be applied. Take account of the need to reduce repeated faults and visits and ensure the most cost-effective solution is applied under the circumstances.
  • To complete all repairs "Right First Time and to a high standard of quality and workmanship.
  • To maintain contact and work collaboratively with Repairs Team Supervisors and Planners to provide updates on the progress of work to ensure overall service objectives are met.
  • To ensure safe methods of working and full compliance with health & safety regulations are met at all times. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge and understanding of current standards, regulations, and best practices appropriate to your specialist trade.
  • To complete all documentation required for the proper running and administration of the service in an accurate and timely manner including; daily work records, time sheets, material schedules, requisitions, and the like.

Qualifications:

  • Completed apprenticeship / City & Guilds / NVQ qualification or demonstrable time-served experience.
  • Where applicable (depending upon trade): 17th Edition BS7671:2008 requirements for electrical installations, Part P electrical qualification, Gas Safe registered / certificate of competence.
  • Full clean UK driving license and own vehicle with business insurance.
  • Candidates will need to have their tools/drills.
