Commercial Finance Director

Unique opportunity for a Commercial Finance Director to join a forward-thinking private equity backed company. We are an award-winning people-focused company. We have 450 staff globally. Reporting into the CFO, the Commercial Finance Director is a key commercial partner to the Business unit leaders, as well as executive management team of the group. The role is to challenge and drive the operational teams to improve financial performance whilst managing and controlling all decision support aspects. The individual will function as a ‘CFO’ for their portfolio of P&L’s as well as having a keen eye on the cash impacts of decision. This role is a hybrid role and would be based at least 2 days a week in our Twickenham HQ in West London. The Commercial Finance Director we are looking for is fully qualified with at least 3-5 years post qualification work experience to be able to support us with process improvements as we grow our business. You will be working closely with the wider growing finance team as well as with many other stakeholders cross-functionally, in a broad and varied role. It is key that you have experience of working with unit-based pricing and working hands on being fully involved in month end/reporting. As Commercial Finance Director you will work to ensure robust strategic planning for business units at Veramed, using negotiating skills, problem solving and finding innovative solutions. The Commercial Finance Director will take on a broad remit, including: Strategically planning for the financial success & growth of the business units Establishing the operating rhythm of the Finance function, building disciplines and processes, to drive the commercial operation Ownership of internal management reporting for relevant client account (s) on a monthly basis, covering volumes, profitability, savings, working capital, cash generation, KPI’s, risks and opportunities, trends and variance reporting Supporting the business in developing profit improvement plans for each client account and helping to drive actions that deliver improved performance. Collaborating with operational team in developing annual client account plans and associated annual financial forecast. Part of team negotiating new contractual and commercial terms and contract amendments/renewals, including preparation of associated financial analysis and liaison with internal legal team. External management reporting for client consumption to cover spend, spend profile, working capital, KPI’s, risks and opportunities, trends, variances, etc. Attend client review meetings and present financial performance. Drawing on his/her commercial judgement when discussing investment or other operational considerations. Setting and maintaining KPIs. Working closely with the Finance Director and FP&A team to prepare the annual budget and to annually update the business plan Leading teams by example and developing and training the next generation of Finance professionals. Acting as a thought partner to the CFO / COO and other members of the Executive Leadership team. The tasks listed outline the scope of this position. Experience we are looking for in our Commercial Finance Director role: Fully qualified accountant or similar qualification/experience At least 5 years, commercial finance experience Very strong IT skills (in particular must have exceptional Excel and data manipulation skills) Power BI or similar advantageous.
