Rapier Employment are currently working with and on behalf of our client to secure qualified, highly skilled and motivated HGV Technicians for their workshop in the Retford area. Salary of upto £200 a day (£1000 a week / £52,000 per annum) PLUS overtime DOE. Up to £25 p/h The company is a family owned, established but growing company which has a state of the art, clean and well-maintained workshop. They have a number of loyal customers who highly recommend the service they provide and deliver which is a driving factor in the need for a qualified, skilled and experienced HGV Technician to join their small but friendly team. The role: You will be working on RCV’s Refuge vehicles, Bin Lorries, Diesel and EV vehicles. Heavy goods vehicles (HGV’s). Day shift Monday to Friday 40 hours per week between the hours of 08:00 – 17:00 Overtime available We are looking for qualified and time served HGV Technicians who can demonstrate a thorough understanding of commercial vehicle mechanical dynamics. You can expect to be situated in a positive and vibrant working environment where your efforts will be rewarded. A skills shortage can be trained by way of upskilling. The type of work you can expect to be carrying out includes (but is not limited to) Routine maintenance MOT preparation / completion Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards 6 weekly inspections Correction of running defects Chassis and fabrication / welding work Hydraulics and pneumatics Improvement of vehicle standards Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections You will be carrying out inspections to a varied and diverse fleet. Requirements: Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent. Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable, as would an HGV or Class 2 licence
