We are looking for two enthusiastic, motivated and experienced individual with a specialist interest in TMJD, Facial Pain and Spinal Pain.

You will be working within a Maxillofacial MDT consisting of 2 consultant Maxillofacial Surgeons, registrar, advanced physiotherapy practitioner, Clinical Psychologist and an Assistant Psychologist.

You will be required to assess complex TMJD, Facial Pain and Spinal patients in an APP clinic referring for relevant investigations, discussing management options and undertaking treatments.A qualification in injection therapy is desirable but not essential.You will review postoperative patients in clinic.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be practicing autonomously as an Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner (APP) to provide patient-centred quality care. This will encompass the skills of advanced assessment, examination, diagnosis and management within an agreed scope of practice.

The APP will meet the requirements of the Centre for Advancing Practice's framework and guidelines for advanced level practice.

To work within the Multi-professional framework for advanced clinical practice in England (HEE 2017). The post holder will deliver an 80% clinical component to their role and 20% related to leadership and management, education and research.

Experience Essential

  • post registration experience
  • NHS experience
  • Highly specialist knowledge & experience of a wide range of approaches to the management of complex and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, demonstrated by advanced clinical reasoning.
  • Evidence of continued professional development - reviewing current practice and research developments within pain management and application to clinical practice
  • Understands the legal responsibilities of the profession
  • Good understanding of research methods, design, data analysis and synthesis

Desirable

  • Previous experience as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner/ Clinical Specialist/ESP in a teaching hospital environment
  • Qualification in injection therapy
  • Registered non-medical prescriber
  • Experience with spread sheets/data collection
