The Job We are seeking a Marketing and Partnerships Lead to contribute to the growth of the affiliate programme, Simple Savings , from CitizenCard, the UK's largest issuer of government-approved Photo-ID. Leading the small marketing team at CitizenCard, the Marketing and Partnerships Lead will oversee the Simple Savings affiliate programme and be responsible for onboarding new brands to the programme ensuring that sales performance targets are met for both current and new brands. This role allows for ongoing input into the affiliate programme and brand portfolio, with ample opportunities for career progression. About Us We operate the UK's largest and most widely recognised Photo-ID scheme, issuing cards to individuals of all ages with a CitizenCard or Post Office PASS Card. With over 2.5 million cards issued, we've recently introduced our Simple Savings affiliate programme to provide additional benefits to our cardholders. The income generated from our affiliate programme is used to enhance services for cardholders and is given back to members in the form of prizes and other benefits. Our primary objective is to ensure that all UK residents can access the goods and services they’re entitled to, such as entry to cinemas, shops, bars & clubs; boarding domestic flights; or using voter ID at the next UK General Election. We have five departments: administration, verification, production, customer services, and marketing. Our staff typically work an 8-hour day onsite from Monday to Friday. In exceptional cases, when authorised, staff have the option to work from home. Main Areas of Responsibility Reporting to the CEO, you will be responsible for generating income from affiliate partnerships with household name brands, alongside marketing the CitizenCard ID product B2C. You will manage a small marketing team including a marketing executive and graphic designer. In this role, you will have individual sales targets across a portfolio of brands. Your day-to-day tasks will involve identifying, approaching, and onboarding new brands, reporting on their performance, and maintaining and expanding existing affiliate partnerships. Additionally, you will be tasked with identifying opportunities to enhance the performance of brands. Specific areas of responsibility will include: Acquiring new brands Identifying brands that align well with CitizenCard cardholders. Approaching the brands and preparing media proposals. Negotiating commercial relationships with the brands in line with targets and strategic aims. Maintaining clear records of correspondence on CRM software. Onboarding New Brands Working with the marketing team, onboarding brands into the Simple Savings programme, working with affiliate platforms and the website CMS. Understanding performance and making changes to improve performance from CitizenCard’s web, email and social media inventory. Reporting on performance and implementing strategies to enhance the commercial performance for each brand. Conducting other general account management tasks to maintain excellent relationships with affiliate partners. Other general brand marketing tasks, including emailing the brands directly. Maintaining and building the marketing for existing affiliate partners Using Google Analytics, our email software and the affiliate platforms to prepare quarterly brand reports and weekly internal reports. Reporting the marketing outcomes from the affiliate platforms in excel on a weekly basis. Creating other reports as necessary. Planning and executing brand campaigns across web, email, and social channels. Developing and implementing media exposure plans for brands, administering these within CitizenCard's systems. Collaborating across teams to ensure the completion of all aspects to a high standard and within the set timeline. Contributing to the ongoing development and enhancement of internal processes and systems. CitizenCard core marketing The Marketing and Partnerships Lead, working with the marketing team will also market the CitizenCard product in line with calendar events, such as General & Local Elections and academic timetable. Delivering core marketing through digital and print media. Reporting on marketing performance to internal teams. Attending relevant events and maintaining strong relationships with partners. Qualifications & Experience The following are the professional and personal attributes required in the role. Qualifications, knowledge, and experience • At least 2 years of experience in a marketing or partnerships role, please note that affiliate experience is desirable but not essential. • Preferably a graduate-level education, although candidates without a degree will be considered if they possess equivalent experience. • Preferred background in B2C and / or B2B marketing, showcasing relevant knowledge and skills. B2B partnership experience, in an agency environment or similar. • Experience in a B2B client facing role, demonstrating the ability to build strong relationships with clients. • Ideally, have experience and be proficient in major affiliate networks such as AWIN, CJ, Impact, etc., with a working knowledge of their functionalities. However, training can be provided for the right candidate. • Capability to generate sales and marketing reports using various inputs, including affiliate platforms and Google Analytics. • Essential experience working in roles with set sales targets and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding them. • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, demonstrating proficiency in relevant software tools. • Experience of line management of a small team. • Experience of writing work plans for yourself and a small team. Personal qualities and skills • Possesses commercial acumen, demonstrating the ability to identify, engage, and develop successful partnerships. • Organised, with the ability to prioritise, delegate to the small marketing team, and deliver work on time and at a high standard. • Highly numerate, with the capability to understand sales data trends and utilise them to inform performance improvements. • Proven and well-developed interpersonal skills, showcasing effective written and verbal communication abilities. • Strong administrative skills, with an excellent eye for accuracy and detail, including proficiency in proofreading. • Exhibiting a professional work ethic and a commitment to maintaining high standards. • Ensures confidentiality is maintained at all times. • Consistently displays excellent attendance and punctuality. • Works effectively as part of a team, building and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues. • Proactive and willing to learn and grow The closing date for applications is 30 th November 2024.
