Network Security Engineer Location: Stevenage Onsite Requirement: 1-2 days per week, Salary: £50,000 - £70,000 (DOE) Role Overview: We are seeking a Network Security Engineer to help secure and protect critical network systems. In this role, you’ll be responsible for implementing robust security measures, managing network security solutions, and ensuring the infrastructure remains resilient against evolving cyber threats. Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain secure network infrastructure. Configure and manage firewalls (Cisco, Checkpoint, Palo Alto) and secure proxy solutions (e.g., BlueCoat, F5). Use advanced security features, including IPS/IDS, SSL decryption, and deep packet inspection to protect against threats. Monitor network traffic, identify vulnerabilities, and apply security policies using tools like PRTG and Nagios. Technical Skills & Experience: Solid understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VLANs). Extensive experience with firewalls and security protocols such as IPSec, SSL/TLS, and VPNs. Expertise in network security zones (DMZ, internal networks) and monitoring technologies (PRTG, Nagios). Note: All applicants must be a British Citizen, born in the UK, and eligible for DV Clearance.
