Vacancy - Electrical Network Technician
Are you seeking a role in which you can maintain and operate plant and equipment across all areas of the Peel Ports electrical networks? Are you excited by the opportunity to support the Mersey Engineering Cluster for Port wide electrical distribution including but not limited to River Entrance and water way infrastructure, Swing and Bascule bridges and impounding stations? We are seeking an Electrical Network Technician to join our team at the Port of Liverpool and help us keep the world moving!
Your Role
In this role you maintain Electrical plant and equipment, including HV and LV distribution systems. You will ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with internal policies and procedures, and any external statutory requirements in relation to health, safety, environment, engineering and quality standards.
You will be required to create and follow switching plans for LV and HV systems to ensure a safe environment of working is established. Have knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, HSG230 Keeping Electrical Switchgear Safe and the BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations.
You will fault find, diagnose and repair electrical and electro-mechanical equipment, responding to breakdowns in a timely manner. You will help deliver maintenance plan requirements on time, communicating any operational developments/changes to relevant stakeholders.
What you'll bring
You will have knowledge and experienc e working with LV and HV networks alongside experience of maintaining and operating electrical equipment, and extensive fault finding and repair experience. You will demonstrate a commitment to maintaining Peel Ports health and safety standards.
You will ideally be qualified to HNC level (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, and have the ability to work as AP(LV) under the Peel Ports Groups Electrical Safety Rules and have the potential to pass the necessary training and become an APLV with a view of AP(HV) leading to SAP. You must have a full valid driving licence.
