About the Role:We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic English teacher to join our dynamic department within a thriving West London Catholic secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of confident communicators and critical thinkers, fostering a love for literature and the power of language, all within a faith-based environment.Key Responsibilities: Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum. Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively (phonics, reading comprehension, writing fluency, grammar, vocabulary acquisition). Develop a love for reading and writing, encouraging exploration of a wide range of texts (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama) and fostering critical analysis skills (close reading, identifying themes, character development, literary devices). Building Relationships: Build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence in written and verbal communication within a faith-based environment. Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential (individualized learning plans, targeted intervention strategies).
