Fire Service Station Manager

Red Sky are currently recruiting for a Station Manager in the Airports Rescue and Fire Service at Liverpool. You will be responsible for the Rescue and Firefighting Service in providing and maintaining an efficient response capability, ensuring that resources and people are managed and maintained to immediately respond to any incident or required activity.

Responsibilities

• Effectively provide resolution of incidents, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, CAA licensing regulations, ensuring robust command and control and emergency procedures in line with national and local guidance, also complying with the rules and regulations of LJLA.
• Maintaining and managing a safe working environment. Ensuring staff discipline, expected standards of behaviour and staff welfare defined within RFFS and LJLA policies.
• Assist with the management of the Rescue & Firefighting Service (RFFS) to ensure an efficient RFFS capability and maintenance of operational compliance with CAA/EASA regulations and NOG.
• Manage the response of the RFFS to ensure full compliance with relevant HSE, CAP, CAA/EASA and NOG requirements.
• Ensure that the command and control of all operational incidents is conducted to the highest possible standards to ensure the safety of those involved or affected and under your control.
• Coordinate with the FSM in maintaining, managing and administering all aspects of the RFFS Maintenance of Competency (MOC) and Structured Learning programme (SLP) ensuring all aspects of RFFS training and auditing, including watch proficiency checks.
• Manage and maintain all aspects of the RFFS training and auditing processes (to include IQA), maintaining compliance, ensuring the MOC programme is fully compliant with CAA/EASA regulations.
• Coordinate with the FSM, the RFFS regulatory and non-regulatory training budget as set at the beginning of the financial year, in line with business requirements.
• Liaise with LJLA stakeholders and managers, both internal and external in an appropriate and professional manner.
• Maintain and manage a safe working environment, ensuring staff discipline, expected standards of behaviour and staff welfare defined within RFFS and LJLA policies. Maintain the required RFFS medical and fitness level.
• Support the FSM with Emergency Planning and liaison with Merseyside Resilience Forum (MRF), Emergency Planning Committee, Emergency Liaison Group and assist with modular, annual and 4 yearly exercising.
• Manage and maintain the Training/Assessor Group to include, meetings and management of change programme (Training/Audits).
• Support the FSM in ensuring a robust audit procedure is in place and compliant with CAA/EASA regulations.
• Support the FSM in promoting LJLA RFFS commercial training.

• Supervisor qualification or equivalent
• Assessors award (L1/L3 ACWE)
• Competencies associated with health and safety
• Relevant instructor qualification
• NEBOSH qualifications (Desirable)
• IQA qualification

• Previous experience at incident command level
• Managing and organising staff
• Developing and implementing systems and procedures
• Experience in leading and motivating
