Quantity Surveyor - Main Contractor - Refurbishment & Retrofit
A leading construction company, renowned for its expertise in social housing refurbishment and retrofit projects, is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Main Contracts Division.
With over 30 years of experience, our client is the preferred contractor for a range of prominent clients, including local authorities, social housing providers, government agencies, historic estates, and education departments.
The company has two offices in Bermondsey (HQ) and Hackney in which you can work from, but this role will require regular site visits across London.
The Quantity Surveyor Role:
The appointed Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the management team to oversee a variety of projects, primarily focused on social housing refurbishment and retrofit works.

- Budgeting and estimating from first principles
- Supplier and subcontractor engagement
- Cost reporting and final accounting
What we are looking for:
- Proven experience in refurbishment or retrofit projects
- Strong ability to minimise costs while maximizing value and cash flow
- Extensive knowledge of standard contract forms
- Expertise in supplier and subcontractor engagement
- Advanced skills in cost reporting and final accounting
- Qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and surveying/estimating software
- Holds a full, clean driver s license
- Significant experience in a similar quantity surveying role
- Salary up to £70,000
- £3,000 car allowance
- Excellent career development with potential progression to Senior Quantity Surveyor within 12-18 months
- Support for continued education, e.g., APC
