This role involves delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions, from planning through to full implementation. A primary focus will be on developing foul and surface water drainage strategies, alongside preparing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs). A solid understanding of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) is essential, as is familiarity with the design process from initial concept through to construction for drainage and flood alleviation projects.
The Water Team provides advisory services to both public and private sector clients on flood risk planning and design, including detailed designs for flood protection, SuDS, and sewerage systems across residential, retail, industrial, commercial, and public sector developments throughout the UK.
Principal Accountabilities
Candidates should have 1 to 4 years of experience. The position will involve managing projects day-to-day, preparing FRAs, conceptual designs for flood protection measures, and drainage strategies that support planning applications and construction drawings. Site visits may be necessary to inform project direction. This is a client-facing role, and active management of multiple projects or client accounts will be required. You'll support senior staff and verify technical work, as well as assist with fee proposals. Key responsibilities include producing FRAs, designing foul and surface water/SuDS systems, and implementing SuDS using the MicroDrainage software package. Familiarity with software like InfoWorks, ICM, Flood Modeller, and QGIS is advantageous.
You will report to a Technical Director or Director.
