Mechanical Systems - Validation Engineer

MECHANICAL SYSTEMS – VALIDATION ENGINEER Are you a person with an experience of validation test execution within engineering or automotive environment? Our client is the world’s leading manufacturer of diesel engines, and we help them to recruit an individual who would be a great addition to their current team. Responsibilities Collate system & component validation plans (DVP – Design Verification Plan) based on risk identified within DFMEAs (Design Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) Deliver assigned projects end to end: Specify test requirements and define engine build & instrumentation requirements through collaboration with relevant engineering teams. Testing will vary, but examples are: Engine dyno testing: engine endurance, functional testing, cold ambient, gradeability, noise & vibration Machine testing: overseeing validation test work on internal machines Work closely with test engineers responsible for executing the test; drive decision making from engine data reviews and end of test inspections. Analyse data as appropriate based on the test work being delivered Ensure that activities are planned and delivered within agreed timelines. Upon test completion - document conclusions and recommendations, complete reports and update DFMEA with learning/results from test work About candidate Proven experience of data analysis, trouble shooting, validation planning. Engine validation/test experience (3-5years minimum) Experience of working as part of a cross functional team to define test requirements Experience of engine or machine development (or similar) Ability to troubleshoot build and test issues, and work with component owners and engine test engineers to complete validation test sign-off Engineering / STEM degree qualified – nicely seen Working hours: Monday to Thursday 08:30-16:45 Friday 08:30-16:15 Type of role: Full time, Hybrid after training (3 days in office, 2 days at home) Location – Peterborough Salary: £30.00-33.00/hr (Negotiable) Unfortunately we are unable to progress candidates who require sponsorship.
