Maintenance Engineer (Double days) /Permanent/ salary Competitive
Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading client manufacturing site located in Beccles. With continued growth, our client is expanding their friendly and collaborative engineering team.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping equipment operational through both proactive maintenance and rapid responses to breakdowns. You'll work closely with the Shift Engineers to ensure production requirements are met and all issues are addressed efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Work to set a program of preventative and autonomous maintenance. • To work together with team in a flexible manner to achieve maximum productivity throughout the shift, liaising with the Shift Engineer to resolve problem areas. • Reactive to breakdowns as required by shift team leader. • To complete all tasks in accordance with the relevant work procedures efficiently and professionally. • Communicating all relevant information to the engineering team leaders. • Any other tasks requested to aid the efficient running of the engineering environment. • Ensure that the work area is maintained in a safe and clean condition in accordance with site BRC and 6S standards and always being mindful of H&S requirements. • Work as part of a team and using your own initiative in both planned and emergency breakdown situations. • Comply with all corporate policies and procedures within the organisation. • Alert management immediately of any significant changes to business risks and internal controls effectiveness.
Maintenance Engineer should possess engineering experience such as mechanical /electrical within manufacturing environments. Maintenance Engineer should demonstrate the ability to work independently to achieve objectives and take responsibility for their work and actions. Recognised engineering qualifications required.
This is a full-time, permanent role on a rotating double day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, with working hours from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm. The position includes a fully covered 75-minute break each day.
Excellent Overtime Opportunities: Our client offers additional hours at premium pay rates—weekday and Saturday shifts are compensated at 1.5x, while Sundays, bank holidays, and arranged callouts are paid at 2x or 3x the standard rate. Overtime is managed on a fair rotation to support those available, including weekend callouts as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
Benefits: 33 days of holiday annually, which includes all bank holidays and the Christmas shutdown period. The holiday will increase on yearly bases.
