Job Title: Science Teacher Location: Crewe January start Working Hours: 8:30 – 4pm, Monday to Friday, Term time only Salary: 30,000 - £38,034 dependent on experience Permanent contract direct with the school following an initial probation period through us. Simply Education is seeking to appoint a qualified Science Teacher to teach Biology, Chemistry and Physics at Secondary level. Our students have become disconnected with their learning so the successful Science teacher must have a passion for their subject and the ability to capture their student’s interest and engagement. In addition, the successful Science Teacher will have resilience and be able to model and promote high behaviour expectations. It is vital that you can communicate effectively and build rapport and common interests with the students to inspire and motivate them. This role is suitable for an ECT or experienced teachers. The school we are working in partnership is a lovely purpose-built specialist provision, supporting students experiencing social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties. The school is based in Crewe which has excellent transport links via public transport. The working hours would be 8:30 – 3:30 Monday to Friday, term time only. Our students are aged between 11 and 16, work in small groups of approximately 5 students at a time. The school can support 37 students at one time. As a science teacher you will work closely with the students to reignite their love of learning. The setting provides students with both vocational and academic qualifications that best prepare their students for life beyond the classroom. Additionally, the school prides itself in creating a learning environment the students can be proud of with access to indoor games and an extensive outdoor area students can access throughout the day. The school is currently developing their forest school area where students will be given the opportunity to plant trees and plants and develop life skills such as building shelters and learning in a hands on and creative way. The main responsibility as a science teacher is to create a safe and stimulating environment where students can flourish. The ideal Science Teacher must have prior experience in leading learning and establishing good relationships and rapport with all students. As a Science Teacher you must always promote the schools’ values and ethos and model positive behaviours and attitudes. Additionally, Staff wellbeing is highly thought of, and staff work collaboratively to share the daily workload. For students the school day finishes at 2:30 allowing Teachers paid time to mark on site before finishing for the day.
