A secondary school in East London is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Business Studies and Economics to join their team in January 2025 or sooner if possible. About the Role: As the Head of Business Studies and Economics, you will be responsible for leading and managing the department, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all key stages. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the curriculum, driving academic success, and supporting the professional development of your team members. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of delivering outstanding results and will be committed to inspiring students to achieve their full potential in these essential subjects. Key Responsibilities: * Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership to the Business Studies and Economics department, ensuring a cohesive and ambitious vision. Manage and support a team of teachers, fostering a collaborative and innovative approach to teaching and learning. * Curriculum Development: Lead on curriculum planning and delivery, ensuring that the curriculum is engaging, relevant, and meets the needs of all students. Innovate and implement new teaching methods to enhance student engagement and attainment. * Teaching and Learning: Model and promote excellent teaching practice across the department. Deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge students, preparing them for success in exams and beyond. * Student Outcomes: Set high expectations for student achievement and monitor progress closely. Use data to inform teaching strategies and interventions to raise attainment and close any achievement gaps. * Professional Development: Support the professional growth of department members through mentoring, coaching, and CPD opportunities. Lead departmental meetings and share best practices.
