Quality Assurance Technologist
Our client is an industry leader within the bakery environment with over 100 years of baking experience. Due to consistent year on year growth an opening has been made in their Quality team.
They are seeking an experienced quality assurance technologist with a food background. If you have worked within the food industry for more than two years, have obtained level 2 in HACCP and Food safety or above, a quick decision maker, and able to work days 8AM to 5PM with some flexibility this position is for you.
Quality Assurance Technologist Responsibilities include:
* To review and identify areas of improvement/additional training for all production paperwork, confirming information in real time, that it is completed accurately and in full.
* Create and maintain accurate, audit ready site -specific and product specific documentation to act as a guidance for Production to be able to delivery continued required standards for processes and products.
* To conduct legal compliance verification checks on equipment such as temperature probes, scales and fridges across the site against a defined schedule escalating where out of specification results are identified and participating in investigation and corrective action implementation.
* Working as a support function to operations to ensure hygiene levels of the facility are maintained by conducting GMP / Glass and Hard Plastic and Fabrication audits in conjunction with departments leads to assess compliance and improve standards. Report findings as identified within the Internal Audit Procedure.
* To complete PQE sessions confirming product conforms to food safety, quality, and customer parameters.
* To carry out sampling and swabbing against site risk assessed swabbing and sampling schedules, leading on investigations when an out of specification result is received, confirming cause, corrective and preventative measures as outlined within the Non-conformance procedure.
* To work with NPD to follow the trial and communicate the relevant information to relevant stakeholders.
* Conduct internal audits including traceability system, and work with the system coordinator to resolve complaints related to quality and food safety.
* Review and set up a traceability system in conjunction with Assistant Quality Manager/Quality Manager
* To co-ordinate and carry out complaint investigation and agree an action plan with the relevant department
* To work with the QA and factory teams to put in place a complaints reduction plan for the site with a special focus on product quality
Quality Assurance Technologist Required skills and competencies:
* Experience in food manufacturing - essential
* Good IT Skills and ability to use, MS Packages and QMS
* Internal audit certificate
* HACCP level 3 – preferable .
* Good understanding of ISO 22000 / BRC standards
* Bachelor’s in food science and technology – Preferable
Location: Hayes
Salary: £32k to £37k
Hours: Monday to Friday 8AM to 5PM (with flexibility)
