Role Overview:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed and knowledgeable Psychology Teacher to join an outstanding secondary school in Levenshulme. This full-time maternity cover position, starting in January, is a unique opportunity to engage students in the exploration of human behavior and psychological principles within a supportive and high-achieving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching Psychology at Key Stage 4 and 5: Deliver stimulating lessons that cover core topics in Psychology, engaging students in a range of theoretical and practical applications of psychological principles. Curriculum Development: Create and adapt lesson plans to align with the school’s curriculum and exam board specifications, ensuring a thorough coverage of topics such as research methods, biopsychology, and social influence. Student Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess and monitor student progress, providing clear, constructive feedback and targeted support to enhance learning and achievement. A-Level Exam Preparation: Support A-Level students as they prepare for their examinations, offering revision strategies, exam tips, and in-depth discussions on complex topics. Classroom Environment: Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom atmosphere where students feel encouraged to participate, ask questions, and develop critical-thinking skills. Resource Management: Use a variety of resources and teaching methods, including case studies, group discussions, and multimedia presentations, to make Psychology accessible and interesting for all students. Parental Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing updates on student progress and discussing ways to support each student’s learning journey. Professional Development: Stay updated with advancements in Psychology education, attend relevant training sessions, and collaborate with colleagues to continually improve teaching practices. Ideal Candidate:

Qualifications: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Psychology or a closely related field. Experience: Proven experience teaching Psychology at the secondary level, with a solid understanding of Key Stage 4 and 5 curriculum requirements. Engaging Teaching Style: Passionate about Psychology and able to inspire students, encouraging them to explore and critically engage with psychological concepts. Organizational Skills: Strong planning and organization skills to balance curriculum delivery, assessment, and support for students preparing for exams.
