We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated BI Engineer to join our team and support our migration from QlikView to Microsoft Fabric. The ideal candidate will be proficient in writing Python and have extensive experience with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising BI solutions, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout the migration process, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights.
As our BI Engineer, you will architect, implement, and optimise solutions using Microsoft Fabric services. As well as, designing and managing scalable environments across both cloud and hybrid settings, developing and maintaining data pipelines for smooth data ingestion and transformation.

How you will contribute
Design & Implementation:
•Architect, implement, and optimise solutions using Microsoft Fabric services.
•Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth integration of Fabric solutions with existing systems.
•Design and manage scalable fabric-based environments across cloud and hybrid environments.
•Develop, deploy, and maintain Fabric-based data pipelines, ensuring smooth data ingestion, integration, and transformation.
•Design and implement efficient data models leveraging Microsoft Fabric's Data Lakehouse, ensuring data accuracy and performance optimisation.
•Create compelling, user-friendly dashboards and reports to present data insights for both operations and executive-level management
•Conduct regular performance tuning of Microsoft Fabric solutions and address any data quality or performance issues proactively.
•Translate complex operational requirements into meaningful data visualisations and dashboards using Power BI.
•Provide training and support to end-users
Administration & Support:
•Provide daily support and administration of the Microsoft Fabric platform.
•Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise resource usage.
•Ensure high availability and disaster recovery processes are in place and tested.
Automation & Orchestration:
•Develop automation scripts and processes to streamline deployment and scaling of Fabric environments.
•Implement CI/CD pipelines for fabric resources to ensure smooth and continuous delivery of updates.
Security & Compliance:
•Ensure that Microsoft Fabric implementations meet company security standards and compliance requirements.
•Implement security best practices for data encryption, access control, and identity management within Microsoft Fabric.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
•Work closely with cross-functional teams (developers, Network, infrastructure) to deliver high-quality fabric-based solutions.
•Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions.
•Provide training and support to team members on Microsoft Fabric functionalities and best practices.
Performance Optimisation:
•Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks within Microsoft Fabric environments.
•Proactively assess and optimise storage, networking, and computing resources to maximize efficiency
What you will bring
QUALIFICATIONS
•Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Synapse, and Data Lakehouse solutions.
•Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator).
•Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architecture.
•Working knowledge of database management, big data solutions, or data analytics in a cloud environment.
•Strong understanding of data integration techniques, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT processes within Microsoft Fabric's ecosystem.
EXPERIENCE
•Proven experience in Business Intelligence and data analytics, particularly in a Microsoft Fabric environment.
•Hands-on experience with Power BI, Data Lakehouse, and Azure Synapse analytics solutions.
•Strong experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining data pipelines within Microsoft Fabric.
•Excellent understanding of DAX, Power Query, and data transformation techniques.
•Strong understanding of cloud environments (Azure preferred), cloud fabric, and hybrid architecture.
•Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins), and orchestration frameworks.
•Knowledge of virtualisation and containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
•Strong collaboration skills and experience working in cross-functional teams.
•Familiar with container terminal systems or logistics
SKILLS
•Advanced skills in Power BI dashboard development and DAX formulas.
•Proficiency in Azure Data Factory, Dataflows, and Synapse Integration Pipelines.
•Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to data quality and analytics.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
•Familiarity with SQL and other querying languages for working with large datasets.
•Familiarity with networking, storage, and security in cloud environments.
•Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and monitoring skills.
