About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated BMS & UPS Service Engineer with an electrical background to join our dynamic team, working across a variety of data centre projects. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on a critical role in maintaining and servicing Building Management Systems (BMS) and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems in some of the most advanced data centres in the UK.
The role offers a blend of fieldwork, problem-solving, and hands-on service engineering with cutting-edge technology in mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, service, and maintain Electrical BMS and UPS systems across data centre projects, ensuring optimal system performance.
- Perform routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs on electrical control systems and UPS systems.
- Commissioning and calibration of BMS controls and UPS equipment.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operations in high-demand data centre environments.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure efficient integration of BMS and UPS systems during construction and upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, focusing on safety, performance, and reliability.
- Provide technical support and advice to clients and other team members as required.
- Keep detailed service reports and documentation of work performed.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency support and respond promptly to client issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Electrical Engineering qualification (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in BMS and UPS systems, ideally within data centre or mission-critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, power distribution, and critical power management.
- Familiarity with Siemens, Trend, Honeywell, or similar BMS systems.
- Experience with UPS manufacturers such as Schneider Electric, APC, Eaton, or similar.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
