Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced IT Security Manager to join our client’s IT team in Newcastle on a hybrid basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong background in IT security management to play a critical role in safeguarding the firm’s IT infrastructure and ensuring compliance with industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the firm’s IT security strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage and monitor security systems to protect the firm’s data, network, and infrastructure.
  • Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, remediation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure security awareness and compliance across all departments.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for improvements.


Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in IT security management or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, systems, and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
  • Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and SIEM.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH are desirable.
