This site is easily accessible from Carnforth, Kirkby Lonsdale, Lancaster, Morecambe, Garstang, Kendal and the surrounding areas.  Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.  Main ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to the Operations Manager, the Quarry Manager will assist in the safe running of a busy quarry.  As Quarry Manager you will also be responsible for:  Managing, coaching and developing a highly skilled team to ensure business continuity and reduce business risk  Leading change and continuous improvement initiatives, maintaining disciplined stock management processes and producing operational reports  All aspects of budgetary control for all quarrying operations  Proactively managing an effective maintenance scheme for the quarry plant and equipment Maintaining and implementing Standard Operating Procedures and risk assessments Managing and overseeing the safe operation of the plant and the planned preventative maintenance of all of the site’s equipment fixed and mobile with responsibility for your own safety and that of colleagues and business partners  Reporting and investigating any unsafe or hazardous working practices  Issuing of safety briefings and toolbox talks to your operational team  Managing proactively both mandatory training and developmental training of your staff Collating and reporting monthly performance KPIs and driving operational performance  The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Quarry Manager will possess indepth experience gained within Quarrying Operations and a good understanding of Quarry Regulations 1999 (Reg 8.1d appointment).
