DevOps/ Platform Engineer Remote – Occasional travel might include to London or Sheffield (whichever is closest to your location) 6 months contract Required skills Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate the provisioning and management of VMware virtual infrastructure. Write and implement Terraform modules to provision VMware resources such as virtual machines, data stores, and networks. Automate the build and deployment of VMware environments, templates, and resources, ensuring consistency and efficiency. Integrate Terraform automation with VMware tools like vSphere, vCenter, and other VMWare related tools for provisioning, performance, capacity, and high availability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Terraform workflows, VMware provisioning, and infrastructure. Strong knowledge of networking, storage, and security in virtualized environments. Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams to create efficient, scalable, and secure infrastructure solutions. Ensure the security, compliance, and best practices of virtual infrastructure. Maintain detailed documentation of Terraform configurations, processes, and system architectures. Provide mentoring and guidance to team members on Terraform, VMware provisioning, and automation best practices. Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud setups. Desirable skills Good understanding and utilization of cloud APIs for integration and automation. Strong understanding of data center infrastructure and cloud services. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams. Knowledge of modern browsers and technical agility for adapting to new technologies.
