About the role: We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and highly motivated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in managing challenging behaviours to support children in Key Stage 1 and 2. This full-time, long-term role is ideal for someone with experience working with students with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. You will work closely with the SENCO, class teachers, and other support staff to create a safe and structured environment where students can reach their full potential. Your primary role will involve working 1:1 and in small groups, implementing strategies to manage challenging behaviour, and ensuring each student has the support they need to succeed academically and emotionally. You’ll play a key role in promoting positive behaviours, helping students develop coping mechanisms, and offering encouragement at every step. Application Requirements: • Experience working with children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to manage challenging situations with patience and resilience. • Commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment. • A relevant qualification (such as Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is desirable. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH and challenging behaviours. • Assist in developing and implementing tailored learning and behavioural strategies. • Foster a positive, calm, and structured learning environment for all students. • Work closely with teachers, SENCO, and other staff to track student progress. • Build strong relationships with students, offering emotional and academic support.
