Our client has an exciting pub/restaurant with a new head chef and we are looking to grow the kitchen team, stunning venue, well equipped kitchen and investment to grow the food side of the business.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes. The role will also involve running the kitchen for one day a week and when the Head Chef is on holiday.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking
- Oversee kitchen staff and provide guidance
- Ensure food production meets quality standards
- Supervise kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
- Help with menu planning and development, we want some creativity
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a culinary role within a busy pub/gastro pub setting
- Knowledge of food safety practices
- Strong team management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Passion for the hospitality industry and culinary arts
