Line Leader Shift Supervisor Location Redditch Salary - £14.00+ per hour negotiable Full time Job description Reporting to: Factory Manager Responsible for successful fulfilment of the daily outcome of the production plan as directed by Factory Manager Effective control of production facilities and day to day supervision of the team in a safe working environment Cost effective manning and efficient use of other resources to achieve (or exceed) all customer demands of service expectations Control of process to achieve (or exceed) quality expectations required Support contract review process for achievement of technical specifications Ongoing pursuit of continuous efficiency improvements & quality attainment requirements Customer liaison as necessitated for facilitating job progressing enquiries Uphold high standards of housekeeping People Full responsibility for directing the team to comply with all applicable Safe Working Procedures and health and safety rules on site Comply fully and enforce all Company policies and procedures Ensure all procedural requirements relating to COSHH are adhered to within the production area Identifying requirements for effective manning to include cover due to sickness/absence Developing and maintaining full lines of communication between production operatives, stores and managers Conducting return to work interviews following absence Notifying Factory Manager of any absence in a timely manner Completion of all new starter inductions Provide one-to-one instruction for new starters on best practice in production methods / techniques and choice of which frets or bars to use Assess and report on individuals output and performance Highlight any additional training needs to the Factory Manager Promote effective team working and offer support to the disciplinary process as necessitated Dealing with any conflict quickly and effectively to minimise negative impact within the team Production Ensure that sufficient stock of raw materials is always available to meet daily production requirements / liaise with production manager for re-order as required Load process jigs into burn off oven and unload and wash daily or as otherwise directed to always maintain fixture availability Communicate any processing and / or quality issues encountered directly to Factory or Quality Manager and facilitate effective handover of shift Ensure all processing procedures are completed in accordance with job card and any related documentation instruction to conform to required quality standards and specification Ensure that the production area is kept clean and tidy in compliance with house-keeping directives and that rubbish bins are emptied daily in compliance with insurance policy Responsible, when required, for the starting up and shutting down of the various process plants Responsible for the movement of work to and from stores Keep premises secure and safe from unauthorised access during shift First Aid point of contact Support other production areas / stores in situations relating to staff absence / increased work volumes Cover for Production Manager/Supervisors when absent (includes day and night shifts) Any other duties as designated by the Factory Manager Required Skills, Capabilities and Behaviours Capability to manage safely, effective plant operation and supervision of general operatives Must be able to understand and comply, with all Health and Safety/Safe Working Procedures always and help to develop safe working practices throughout the site Must demonstrate proficiency in operating a counterbalance forklift truck and hold a certificate of accredited training dated within a 3-yr period Must hold a full motor car driving licence valid for driving in the UK Demonstrate full understanding of COSHH requirements within our environment First Aid at Work Certificate Flexible to undertake alternative/additional duties as required by changing Customer and Company demands Behave in line with policies and procedures identified in the Employee Handbook and treat all work colleagues with respect Please apply with your CV in the first instance.
