CAD Designer

Job Title: CAD Designer (Roofing, Cladding, and Glazing Systems) Location: Antrim, Northern Ireland Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Competitive Salary DOE Blackfox Solutions are delighted to be working with a growing company, seeking a skilled Designer to work on roofing, cladding, and glazing system designs. In this role, you will develop 2D CAD drawings from architects' tender drawings and specifications, ensuring all designs meet engineering, aesthetic, and performance standards. The ideal candidate will have industry experience, proficiency in CAD, and a strong eye for detail. Key Responsibilities: Create 2D CAD drawings for roofing, cladding, and glazing systems based on project specifications. Ensure designs meet engineering, weathering, thermal, fire, and aesthetic requirements. Oversee the design process from tender award to project completion, adhering to deadlines and milestones. Evaluate tender documents, identify variations, and fully understand project requirements. Collaborate with clients and architects to translate their vision into practical and feasible designs. Regularly update and submit drawings, maintaining communication with stakeholders. Review and revise designs based on client and team feedback. Monitor design progress and report regularly to the Design Manager. Maintain document control and implement QA procedures. Participate in pre-construction meetings and align with other departments on project goals. Issue RFIs and provide coordinated project details and layouts. Coordinate material scheduling with the commercial and contracts departments. Work with structural engineers to ensure accurate structural calculations. Conduct site visits to support contract and site managers, resolving design issues. Required Experience & Skills: Minimum 3 years experience in drafting roofing, cladding, and/or glazing for commercial developments. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant design software.
