Group Head of Transport

We’re seeking an experienced Group Head of Transport to assume strategic accountability for transport & logistics for a rapidly growing building products supplier, across a significant national network of sites. The role focuses on optimizing fleet management, and procurement, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic improvements across a decentralized business model. Key Responsibilities: Oversee multi-site transport operations, focusing on cost-efficiency, compliance, and fleet optimization. Manage a dedicated central support team providing administrative and operational support. Lead procurement initiatives to optimize truck leasing, servicing, and supplier management. Implement and manage telematics and fleet management systems to improve efficiency and track KPIs. Ensure legal compliance with transport regulations and develop innovative solutions to minimize operational downtime Look at innovations in fleet technology to develop sustainable solutions in line with their environmental objectives. Requirements: A proven track record leading transport in multi-site logistics/distribution business. A National CPC is essential. Strong leadership skills and communication skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders at all levels The ability to think strategically with a passion for implementing robust systems and processes and instilling a culture of continuous improvement. Experience in industries such as logistics, manufacturing, or retail distribution would be advantageous.
