We are a passionate team of multi-talented construction professionals.?Due to recent success with a number of tenders, we are looking to recruit a friendly, high performing and motivated individual who takes pride in their profession, to join us on a full-time basis and for the long term. Using your high standards to deliver quality results, we are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join us to provide procurement support to all areas of the business for sites across Cornwall.


Working as a Quantity Surveyor here at RG Kellow Ltd, youll be tasked with preparation of tenders and conducting surveys to ensure projects are performing on budget and on time. You will be the first point of contact for subcontractors and the commercial lead on all projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse project specifications and drawings to assist in creating precise cost estimates
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing details
  • Develop and submit tenders for a range of large and small construction projects
  • Conduct surveys and site visits to evaluate project needs (a UK Driving Licence is essential)
  • Manage project valuations and variations, ensuring payment certificates are received on time
  • Work closely with project, site and section managers to guarantee project success
  • Obtaining Subcontractor prices and raising Subcontract Orders
  • Experience with JCT and NEC form of contracts


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quantity Surveying in the construction sector
  • Proficiency in estimating software programs and Excel spreadsheets
  • Strong analytical and mathematical abilities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Degree or certification in a related field is desirable, but not essential
