HV Design Engineer

HV Design Engineer Contracted with the opportunity to extend for the right Candidate Will support in the design on Substation with the End Client on a Secondment basis. The project will be Remote and open to EU candidates Min exp in 132kV Full Understanding on Design and able to problem solve To review design and provide workable solutions Electrical Engineering Degree min 2 years · Good Understanding on Transmission and Distribution · Previous experience in GIS Design · HVDC would be a plus · Delivering primary design requirements, including but not limited to: o Primary layouts and elevations for substations o Single Line Diagrams o Transformer, shunt reactors, NER’s, Reactive & Capacitive compensation o Transformer sizing and specifications o GIS & AIS switchgear o Switch-room layouts o Earth Switches, CT’s, VT’s, Surge Arrestors, Circuit Breakers, Post Insulators, Disconnectors, etc o CT sizing calculations o Busbar short circuit forces o Busbars and Connectors design and specification o LVAC Supplies for Substations o Earthing studies & earth return current o Insulation coordination o Site mechanical interlocking o Type registration o FAT of equipment o Calculations & Technical reports o Writing technical specifications for procurement · Take part in Design & HAZID reviews as appropriate · The adherence to and control of documents and drawings in accordance with management procedures. · Design input/output within the designated risk management process. · Development of team specific standards to ensure the consistency of the output. · Development of the team’s CAD technicians.
