1:1 Learning Support Assistants and Learning Mentors in Leeds A Secondary school in Leeds are looking for learning support assistants and learning mentors to work within their school on a day to day, short term and long term basis. The school are requiring extra staff due to extra student referrals which has meant that the school are needing extra staff to work 1:1 and general classroom help. The ideal candidate will be able to have strong presence and good behaviour management skills within the classroom. These roles will be ideal for candidates who have experience in prisons, residential homes and with youth offenders who are looking to get into education. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils out of the classroom, with pastoral and personal development, manage behaviour of pupils sent out of class, freeing up other TAs, patrol school, working with pupils not in class, for whatever reason Required Skills & Experience: Previous experience working with teenagers, strong behaviour management, team player attitude with a positive and flexible approach to work, experience within an SEMH school or setting.
