We are seeking an experienced qualified Reporting Radiographer to aid in the advancement of our Reporting Service and ensure that scans are reported with the utmost excellence within the appropriate time frame.

You should possess extensive experience in establishing governance and implementing best practices in accordance with professional standards.

As part of this role, you will be expected to meet the four pillars of advanced practice, conduct diagnostic imaging and maintain relevant records, supervise junior Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, Apprentices and students, assist in teaching SpRs, and participate in research and audit.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will:

 

  • Undertake independent image interpretation in line with their scope of practice with the view to provide detailed written or verbal reports to the referring clinicians, to determine diagnosis where applicable, as part of the delegated radiographers extended role.
  • Organise workload in areas of delegated responsibility on a daily basis, maximising efficiency using available resources and managing patient priority as appropriate.

Conduct examinations, producing high quality diagnostic images, across a range of modalities, ensuring safe practice is carried out in accordance with departmental protocols and in line with their clinical scope of practice.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential

 

  • BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or Equivalent
  • PgCert/PgDip/MSc (or equivalent ) plain film reporting

Desirable

  • Management training

Experience Essential

  • Relevant post qualification experience as a senior radiographer in multiple modalities as demonstrated by portfolio
  • Experience of monitoring of junior staff

Desirable

  • Previous experience in a reporting radiographer role
  • Experience of teaching and supervision in radiology

Knowledge Essential

  • Knowledge of standards and responsibilities expected of a reporting radiographer according to local reporting radiographer policy and procedure.
