Mechanics trainer * School based opportunity Location: Wandsworth, Tooting Bec Free parking and local transport links (Northern line underground and overground station as well as great bus routes) Contract Type: Full-time, long-term * Monday - Friday * 8.30am-4pm Salary: Between £(Apply online only) per day, based on experience The school cater to primary, secondary and sixth form students. Are you a qualified/ experienced mechanic with a passion for training and mentoring? Do you have experience working with apprentices / young people and a desire to tranistion your knowledge into a school setting? We are recruiting on behalf of a dynamic SEMH school in Wandsworth, and we are looking for a Mechanics training or instructor to join their dedicated team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in mechanics and experience in teaching, mentoring or training the structure of mechanics or working with apprentices. Mechanics trainer - Key Responsibilities: * Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in mechanics to students with SEMH needs, adapting the curriculum to meet individual learning styles and abilities. * Create a structured and supportive classroom environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn. * Work closely with support staff and the wider teaching team to ensure students receive holistic, tailored education and care. * Develop practical learning activities and projects that inspire students, helping them to build confidence and real-world skills. * Monitor student progress and behaviour, implementing strategies to manage challenges and help students overcome barriers to learning. * Support students’ social and emotional development alongside academic progress, building strong, trusting relationships with them. Mechanics Trainer - Requirements: * Proven experience in mechanics, with either a formal qualification in the subject or significant industry experience. * Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs or in a similar environment is highly desirable
