ABF Sugar is a group of business that are part of Associated British Foods plc, the international ingredients and Retail group. We operate across 21 plants in 9 countries and employ around 35,000 people.

We sell our products into a range of industry sectors, including food and drink, fuels, pharmaceutical, agriculture and horticulture, power and energy.


ABF Sugar is currently recruiting for a Talent Specialist to join the central Talent Team that are based in Durban, South Africa. This role can be based in either London, Peterborough, Spain or Durban and will report to the Talent Director. The successful incumbent will be responsible for enabling an integrated approach to meeting the talent needs of the Business Unit’s across all locations today and in the future.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Business Unit HR Directors, Talent, HR and Line Managers, providing expert support for the identification, assessment, talent development and effective succession coverage for leadership and critical roles
  • Enable the achievement of Attracting, Acquiring, Assessing, Identifying Diverse talent for critical roles
  • Provides central Talent Management training for Talent Specialists, HR and Line Managers as required
  • Facilitates central Career Conversation training for Talent Specialists, HR and Line Managers
  • Facilitates Talent development for people on succession to ensure readiness for identified roles
  • Facilitates Coaching, Mentoring, Sponsorship, Development, Psycho-metrics and other development
  • Facilitates cross country development assignment moves and International Experience Programmes
  • Up-skills and governs minimum standards for attracting, assessing, identifying, developing and retaining talent
  • Supports the development of identified talent for critical roles and the quick movement across the Division
  • Provides guidance on psychometric assessments
  • Continues to share best practice and solve complex business problems in the integrated talent communities
  • Ensures governance in the evolution of the Talent operating model in the Business Units
  • Share Talent best practice across the Division
  • Provides accurate, timely and insightful talent analytics for effective decision making


Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a complex matrix organisation in a similar role within Talent
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent ideally in Industrial Psychology / Occupational Psychology)
  • Demonstrable track record of skills and experience gained within a similar position at a similar level
  • Strong evidence of delivering results in a Talent Management capacity
  • Effective influencing skills across various different levels in the organisation
  • Strong business partnering skills
  • Ideally have experience of working across a range of different cultures / countries, preferably including Africa and European markets
  • Excellent planning, organisational and project management skills
  • Self-driven, with the ability to work proactively and independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Willingness to travel to all ABF Sugar operations in Africa and Europe.
