Head of IT Infrastructure / IT Infrastructure Manager
Flexible Hybrid working
We’re looking for a visionary leader to shape the future of our IT infrastructure. As the Head of IT Infrastructure, you’ll drive the strategy for datacenters, networking, and server environments, ensuring our technology foundation is secure, resilient, and aligned with our digital transformation goals. About the Role:
In this key leadership role, you’ll guide our infrastructure and network teams which include Server, Storage and Voice and Data engineers responsible for traditional (largely on premises) infrastructure and other specialists such as Database Analysts. Your mission is to lead the development and implementation of infrastructure strategies that boost agility, enhance performance, and streamline operations through automation and cloud technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Define and drive infrastructure strategies for datacenters, networking, and servers, aligning with digital transformation goals.
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring high availability, robust security, and optimal performance across all infrastructure components.
* Lead infrastructure modernization by adopting cloud technologies, automation, and DevOps practices to enhance scalability and efficiency.
* Mentor and guide a diverse team of infrastructure and network specialists, fostering a collaborative culture of continuous improvement.
* Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the efficient delivery of IT services and alignment with organizational goals.
* Act as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance on system architecture, cloud adoption, and infrastructure stability.
* Champion Agile and DevOps practices within IT, accelerating delivery, driving innovation, and embedding a culture of agility.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in leading and managing infrastructure operations in medium to large organizations, with a strong track record of strategic direction setting.
* Experience in leading, building, and nurturing a high-performing team of IT and digital specialists.
* Strong budgeting and financial management skills to optimize resource allocation.
* Current or previous hands-on experience with server or networking infrastructure, ideally both.
Preferred / Desirable Experience & Qualifications:
* Leadership training (e.g., ILM Level 5 or equivalent)
* Certifications in Cisco, Mitel, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Azure or VMware
* Experience in cloud environments, cloud architecture, and DevOps practices
* Ability to innovate processes and maximize resource efficiency
* Skill in identifying interdependencies within complex technical environments and managing the impact of incidents or changes
